Gemini— Grow in truth and peace

As you strive to become a better individual, it’s important to always do your own research and find a variety of ways that will help you reach goals of self-love and peace. There are a lot of self-help books to read and then, there’s astrology.

Whether it’s your birthday today, or maybe next week, then you are a Gemini. Happy birthday! Maybe you’re not a Gemini, but you know someone born between the 21st of May and the 20th of June. Even if there’s no Gemini in your life, there’s a lot of things you can learn from the communicative Gemini. Let’s look to the stars.

Astrology

I have always found astrology interesting. When I say “astrology” I don’t mean the daily horoscopes. I sometimes give those horoscopes a look-see from time to time, solely for fun. For me, a daily horoscope is similar to a fortune inside a fortune cookie. A little picker-upper that I don’t mind reading.

However, astrology has a much deeper meaning. It relates to the study of our emotions, behaviors and our surroundings.

Familiarizing yourself with astrology can take you beyond what you can just learn about yourself. It also relates to what we can learn about others. I usually don’t just read about my astrological sign. I like to go beyond that. I read and inform myself on the astrological signs of my family and friends. And I don’t stop there. I even read about all the other signs just to become more aware and because I am naturally inquisitive.

“But astrology isn’t a real thing…”

I have heard this so many times. My counterclaim is this: Just because a self-help book isn’t Pulitzer-acclaimed and plastered with accolades doesn’t make it unworthy of being read.

Many shy away from astrology because it is seen as nonsense. But to me, it is another outlet of information. Astrology may not be perfect, but I don’t immediately debunk it as soon as I read and find something that doesn’t relate to me.

I keep reading. I find that there is always something for me to learn. Anything that helps me become a better individual and anything that helps me become more understanding of others is always something I welcome.

Astrology is simply another avenue that can help us understand human nature and emotions. It is a pseudoscience that can

  • help us figure out why we feel the way we often do;
  • help us how to cope with the surprises, ups and downs of life; and
  • teach us how to understand ourselves and those around us.

As the great Socrates said,

“To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom.”

In order to understand others, we must first understand ourselves. We must ask ourselves tough questions and seek inside of us the truth. We must recognize and be honest about the things we need to change in ourselves to live a better, peaceful and happier life.

Understanding Gemini

The following will help you, a Gemini, understand yourself.

Additionally, if you’re not a Gemini, the following will help you better understand a fellow Gemini friend or loved one; or it can simply give you advice and wisdom.

And Gemini said: “I think”

Mantra: I am peaceful, centered and have great spirit.

Color: Citrus colors are what you can go to when you need that extra boost of courage or when you want to add a bit more sparkle into your life. Think sunshine, lemons, limes and oranges. If you don’t want to be so bold with such citrusy colors, opt for accessories instead and get ready to feel fresh.

Luck Day: Wednesday. This is the day that you need to mark in your week with extra smiley faces and confetti. Yes, it’s the middle of the week. Wednesday is seen as the worst day in the week, but that ends today. This day is your day. Make this day awesome!

More Gemini

Places to Visit: Out of all the places in the world, the following will really capture a Gemini’s mind and heart. The United States is first on your list. Take a roadtrip, there is a lot to see from the East to West and back. Next on your list are: Morocco, Belgium, Eritrea, Sweden, Iceland, and Wales.

There are also cities to learn about and even visit. London, Cardiff, San Francisco, Tripoli and Melbourne.

Holidays: Make room in your schedule to travel. Maybe you love to travel to far-off places, but local new places also count! Gemini is interested in places that inspire. Go on an architecture walk. Take in the sights of astonishing buildings, beautiful temples and sculptures. A walk through a local flower market is also a great experience for you to go on. Be prepared to get yourself some flowers to take home.

Food: Don’t overthink it. Think quick and easy, but delicious and nutritious. Gemini’s are always thinking about many things at once, so if need be, get yourself a bright-hued kitchen timer that will keep you from getting distracted. If you are on the go, make sure to pack a healthy snack. You’re busy, but remember to eat the good stuff filled with the vitamins and nutrients your body needs to keep going and going.

Flower: Beautifully-scented lavender is your flower. Get yourself some fresh lavender and place it inside your home. The azalea is also all yours. These flowers will refresh, calm and brighten up your space and busy mind. (Hint: Azalea flowers also make great gifts for a Gemini!)

Pet: What is always cheerful and chirping? A bird. If you don’t have a pet, you may want to consider getting a parrot or cockatiel. These birds are not so difficult to train and they make for good companions. If you already have a pet, still, consider it. If you have the time and dedication for another pet, go for it!

Parties: That’s a “yes” to gatherings. A Gemini is all about communication and appreciates bringing people together. The more the merrier. Expect good conversation, mingling, and dancing until sunrise.

Character

The following are characteristics. They are not fixed as being good or bad. They are simply qualities that can either build you up or take you back a few steps depending on the circumstances.

☻ Versatile, Communicative, Energetic, Adaptable

☹ Restless, Capricious. Hyperactivity can cause a Gemini to crash and burnout. Navigate your ideas and try to not bounce from one idea, one job, one occupation to another. Remember to reset.
